  • Are there any restrictions on who can float?

    There are no age restrictions at Saltsoak since everyone can benefit from the experience.

    However, we do not recommend floating with newly colour-treated hair or if you’ve recently used self tanning products.

    Floating is also not recommended during menstruation.

    Although floating while pregnant can offer great comfort to expectant mothers, it’s always best to seek advice from your doctor first. Being in a float tank during the last trimester is particularly beneficial for many women, as the sensation of weightlessness can provide great relief and offer a calming experience.

  • What if I am claustrophobic?

    There is no requirement to close the lid on the tank if you feel anxious about the space, however the tanks themselves are surprisingly roomy once inside. There is no lock on the tank lid so you can open it with a simple touch at any time and leave it open if you choose.

    Regardless of how you choose to experience your Saltsoak, there are great benefits to be achieved from floating in a gravity-free environment.

  • What do I wear for my saltsoak?

    Since any distraction can detract from the benefits of floating, we recommend you soak in the nude! You will be in a private room by yourself, so please do what makes you most comfortable.

  • How should I prepare for my float?

    We recommend not shaving the day of your float, as razors can cause small nicks and cuts that may sting in the salt water in our tanks. We also suggest eating 1-2 hours before your float to ensure you’re not hungry, but make sure not to have a large meal, as this may make you feel unwell in the tank.

    As mentioned before, we also don’t recommend floating if you have newly colour-treated hair, or if you’ve recently used tanning products. We also ask that you do not float during menstruation.

  • How is the water cleaned?

    After every float, the water is pumped multiple times through a filter similar to the filtration system of a hot tub.

  • What if I fall asleep? Can I drown?

    The epsom salts increase your buoyancy to such an extent that you are completely safe to fall asleep without drowning. You are held in a supported state, and unable to roll onto your face without extreme exertion.

  • What should I do for 60 minutes in the tank?

    Breathe, relax, keep an open mind, embrace the stillness, rest, find focus. Enjoy the complete nothingness.

  • When is the best time to try a Saltsoak?

    Any time is a good time to experience bliss, but it’s particularly beneficial if you are under stress, in pain or discomfort, suffering from sleep deprivation, have anxiety, or are in need of mental clarity.

  • What does it cost for a Saltsoak?

    A single float is $89. However we also sell a package of 3 floats (non-shareable) for $199.

  • What are your hours?

    Due to COVID-19, our hours have changed slightly:

    • Tuesday: 11:30am – Last float 6:00pm
    • Wednesday: 11:30 am – Last float 6:00pm
    • Thursday: 10:30am – Last float 7:00pm
    • Friday 10:30am – Last float 5:00pm
    • Saturday: 10:30am – Last float 7:00pm
